All faculty, guest and student concerts will be held in the Illinois Wesleyan University School of Music’s Westbrook Auditorium, 1312 Park St, Bloomington, IL, unless otherwise noted. All concerts are free of charge. (Please note, our elevator is under repair and may not be available.)

Each member of the Griffon String Quartet has advanced degrees and significant professional experience, both as teachers and performers. Furthermore, they bring to this residency passion, commitment, and the desire to see their quartet become a cultural cornerstone in the Northeastern Wisconsin area.

This upcoming July 22, the Illinois Chamber Music Festival is proud to present a special concert as part of Music For Food, a musician-led initiative for local hunger relief. The Illinois Chamber Music Festival has been a proud participant of Music for Food for the past four years. This year’s concert will be on Monday, July 22 at 7 p.m. and is held at the Mennonite Church of Normal, 805 South Cottage Ave., Normal. Our faculty and students will perform pieces by Schubert, Beethoven, Brahms and others. Free-will offerings are encouraged and all donations are tax-deductible. All proceeds will benefit Home Sweet Home Bread For Life Co-Op, a locally owned organization that helps families struggling with chronic food security issues. The String Quartet (https://indianapolisquartet.uindy.edu/biography/) will be performing string quartets by Haydn and Grieg, and they will be joined by pianist R. Kent Cook for Robert Schumann's glorious Piano Quintet.
